Come be a gentle bird with me.  We are sitting in a tree and it is early morning of what promises to be a beautiful day.  The sun is bright and its warming rays land softly on our wings.  The breeze is carrying a light scent of flowers and grass.

There are millions of greens in the trees around us, and if we look very carefully, we can see individual leaves moving in the breeze.

And so we take flight to feel the wind in our feathers as it caresses us and lifts us and supports us.  We fly through the air and see the beautiful land below us.  The grass is very green, the flowers brightly colored.

Below us are four children sitting in a circle playing a game with a little ball.  We hear the sound of their laughter and squeals of joy as they play together.  The children come from very different backgrounds and are dressed very differently from each other, and yet they play together.

And we crest another hill and fly over another valley, the air still caressing our wings and bodies.  Below us now there are some teenagers.  They are building a camp.  The tent is laid out on the ground and two boys are struggling to raise it.  So we land in a nearby tree to watch.

Others are busy with tasks around the camp -- some are building the campfire area, others are setting up an eating area, all are busy.  As we watch, the two boys continue to struggle with the stubborn tent.  One by one, the other teenagers notice their struggle and come over to join their effort.  Soon, everyone is pulling and tugging at the tent.  As the last girl joins the group, the tent is suddenly erect and in place.  We hear laughter and singing as the tent is secured in place.  Then the group goes from task to task together and in minutes, the campsite is ready.

We watch as they make and eat dinner together, the singing and laughing getting louder and steeadier.  After the dinner is eaten and cleared, they sit around the campfire with the fire flickering.  The sun has gone behind the mountains and the fire and stars are the only light.  In the dancing light, it is impossible to see the differences between boy and girl, black or white, blond or brunette, or color of eyes.  In fact, it is impossible to tell how much of the glow is from the fire and how much is from the people sitting together around it.

And so, we join hands and feathers with all others who see this sight before us and with the others who breathe in the warmth of people working and living together and collect that warmth, that Glow, that Energy and we direct it out of the group and onto all people that they may feel it also.

We see ourselves as a fountain with the Living Water of Peace that holds the togetherness that recognizes all as living and breathing creatures.  That Living Water flows upward from our group center and cascades over our group onto all in ripples and splashes of Energy, batheing all in a wave of contentment and community, where each is treasured and each is recognized.

Hold that image of the Living Water quietly as it bathes you as well.
